Shift Rosterपालो तालिका
A shift roster is the published schedule of who works which shift on which day. It is what attendance is measured against: without a roster, a punch at 14:00 cannot be classified as on time or late.
Also called: duty roster, shift schedule, shift planning, palo talika
A roster is a measurement baseline
Scheduling is the visible purpose. The load-bearing one is classification: a punch only means something relative to an expected shift. The same 14:00 check-in is on time for an afternoon shift and five hours late for a morning one.
Companies that run shifts but keep the roster in a WhatsApp message end up classifying attendance by hand, every day, forever.
What a workable roster defines
- Shift start and end times, and the rest interval inside them.
- A grace period, so a two-minute delay is not a late mark.
- Night shift boundaries, where a shift crosses midnight and the punch-out belongs to the previous day.
- Weekly off patterns, which rotate in most shift operations.
Rosters and the weekly cap
The forty-eight hour weekly limit applies to shift work too. A rotation that looks balanced across a month can still breach the cap in a single week, and that is easier to catch when the roster is planned in the same system that counts the hours.
Shift Roster, answered
Because a punch is only late, early or overtime relative to an expected shift. Without a roster, every classification has to be made by hand.
A short allowance after shift start during which an employee is not marked late. It stops trivial delays generating exceptions that a manager then has to clear.

- Biometric Attendanceबायोमेट्रिक हाजिरीBiometric attendance records a punch using a physical identifier such as a fingerprint or a face, on a device at the workplace.
