Runs entirely on your computer
No network requests
Not “we do not sell your data”. The extension makes no requests at all, and a build gate fails if a network call is ever added to it.
One permission
Storage, the browser’s own local store, used to remember the payroll list and the attendance sheet. Export it as JSON or erase it from Settings.
Numbers that match this site
Tax slabs, contribution rates and the Labour Act figures are generated from the same files that render nepalhrm.com, so the two cannot drift apart.
Bikram Sambat dates, done properly
A Bikram Sambat month runs from one solar ingress to the next, so it is 29 to 32 days depending on where the sun actually is, and the lengths are fixed each year by the Panchanga committee and published. There is no leap rule, which means every converter is a lookup table and the only question that matters is whether the table is right.
This one was cross-checked line by line against two independently maintained calendar sources. They agree exactly for BS 2000 to 2083 and disagree after that, which is what you would expect: a year’s month lengths only become record once its Panchanga is published. So BS 2084 onward is carried, because refusing to convert it would be worse, but it is marked provisional everywhere it appears rather than presented as settled.
When you outgrow the toolkit
The toolkit does one person or one month at a time, and it keeps no history. That is a real limit, not a teaser: for a handful of staff it is genuinely all you need, and for a payroll that runs every month it stops being enough quickly.

Questions
- Is the HR Toolkit extension free?
- Yes. All 15 tools are free, with no account and no usage limit.
- Does it send my employee data anywhere?
- No. The extension makes no network requests. Everything you enter stays in your own browser profile, and you can export or erase it from Settings. It asks for one permission, storage, which is the browser's own local store.
- Which tax year does the salary calculator use?
- FY 2083/84. The slabs follow the Income Tax Act 2058 as amended by the Finance Act, and they are generated from the same file that powers the calculators on this website, so the extension and the site cannot disagree.
- Does it handle SSF as well as PF?
- Both. SSF applies 11 percent from the employee and 20 percent from the employer on basic salary; PF applies 10 and 10, with gratuity at 8.33 percent. There is a tool that puts the two side by side on the same salary.
- What Bikram Sambat years does the date converter cover?
- BS 2000 to BS 2090, which is 14 April 1943 to April 2034. Month lengths through BS 2083 are published record. Later years are provisional, because a year's month lengths only become record when its Panchanga is published, and the tool marks them wherever they appear.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, entirely. There is no server involved at any point, so the tools work on a plane, on a bad connection, or with the network switched off.
