NepalHRM at Idea Summit 2026

A day at Baneshwor Hills, Kathmandu, with Career Kaushal. Here is what we set up, what we ran, and who was there.

On Saturday 22 August 2026 the NepalHRM team packed up two standees, a monitor, a box of brochures and a set of game props, and set up a table at Baneshwor Hills for Career Kaushal's Idea Summit 2026. We joined the day as an official event collaboration.

The room was mostly students and the colleges that teach them, with founders and company staff moving through the exhibition floor between sessions. That mix is more useful to us than it first sounds. A college is itself an employer, and its administrators were standing in the same hall as their students, so the conversations ran in both directions: what a first job in Nepali tech actually looks like, and how a payroll runs when PF, CIT and SSF all have to reconcile at the end of the month.

We ran a live demo on the monitor through the day and three table games to give people a reason to stop. The photographs below are in the order they were taken, from loading up at the office in the morning to the team still standing at half past three in the afternoon.

What we actually ran

A live product demo

The real application on the monitor, not a slide deck, so anyone who asked how attendance reaches a payslip could be shown rather than told.

Three table games

A quiz, a ball-on-cup game and a drinks match. Prizes were handed out through the day, which is what most of the photographs below are of.

Career and internship conversations

Students asked what a software team in Kathmandu actually needs. Those talks were the reason for being in a hall full of final-year students.

Staffed on the day by Rajendra, Prasamsa, Bishal, Bishnu and Roshan, with others from the Kathmandu office dropping in through the afternoon.
