Eid ul-Fitr 2083 ईद (ईद उल फित्र)

Date

Not fixed

The notice grants the day and names no date.

Clause 2.1(r) · announced separately each year

No countdown: the 2083 notice fixes no date for Eid ul-Fitr. Watch for the separate announcement, then add it to the company calendar.

The notice sets no date: it falls on the day the festival is observed, which depends on the lunar sighting. Payroll has to be told the date each year rather than deriving it.

Eid ul-Fitr ends the fasting month of Ramadan. Its date depends on the sighting of the new moon, so it is confirmed only a day or two ahead.

A holiday without a date

The notice grants Eid ul-Fitr but fixes no date. A company calendar should hold the day as expected around the end of Ramadan and confirm it when the moon is sighted.

A Muslim employee may also name Eid as their festival for festival expense, which is then paid before Eid rather than before Dashain.

Is Eid ul-Fitr a paid holiday for a private company?

Only if the company picks it. Section 41 of the Labour Act 2074 fixes 13 paid public leave days a year (14 for a female employee) and leaves the choice of days to the employer; government offices close under the notice.
