NepalHRM Login Not Working
You enter your email and password, and the page comes back with an error instead of your dashboard.
Almost every failed NepalHRM sign-in is one of five things: a wrong password, an account locked by ten wrong attempts, a first sign-in that still needs the emailed 6-digit code, two-factor authentication, or an account closed by offboarding. The important part is that a locked account shows the same message as a wrong password, on purpose. So if the password you are sure about stops working, wait 15 minutes and try once more before resetting anything.
What the message on your screen means
These are the strings NepalHRM shows, word for word. Find yours and read across.
Invalid email or password
- What it means
- Either the credentials are wrong, or the account is temporarily locked. The application returns one message for both cases so that nobody can use the login form to find out which email addresses are real accounts.
- What to do
- If you are confident the password is right, treat it as a lockout: wait 15 minutes, then try once. If it still fails, use Forgot password.
First-time sign-in. We've emailed a 6-digit code to you. Enter it to continue.
- What it means
- The password was correct. The account has never verified its email address, so a one-time code is sent before the first session is issued.
- What to do
- Open the email and enter the code within 10 minutes. If it has not arrived, check spam, then use the resend option (available 30 seconds after the last send).
Work through these in order
Cheapest first. Each step says what you should see if it worked, so you can stop as soon as it does.
Retype the email with no trailing space
Copy-paste from a chat or a spreadsheet often carries a space. The address is lowercased and trimmed before lookup, so case does not matter, but paste it into a plain text field first if you are unsure.
The error changes, or you get in.
Wait 15 minutes if the password should be right
Ten consecutive failures lock the account for 15 minutes. Nothing on screen says so. The lock clears on its own, so there is no unlock request to make.
The same credentials work after the wait.
Use Forgot password on the sign-in page
The reset link is valid for one hour and can be used once. Request a fresh one rather than reusing an older email.
You set a new password and land on your dashboard.
Check for the 6-digit code if this is your first sign-in
A brand new account verifies its email before its first session. The code lasts 10 minutes and can be resent after 30 seconds.
Entering the code completes the sign-in and you are not asked again.
Have your HR admin confirm the account is still active
Once someone is offboarded the password keeps working but new sessions are refused, which reads as a login failure. HR can see the employment status on the employee record.
HR either reactivates the record or confirms the account is intentionally closed.
Ask HR to resend the invitation
If you have never set a password, you need the invitation link rather than the reset link. It is single use and expires after 7 days, so an old email in your inbox will not work.
The fresh link opens the set-your-password screen.

Include all of it in the first message and the first reply back is usually a fix rather than a question.
- The email address on the account, spelled exactly as you type it.
- Your company name, so support can find the right workspace.
- The exact message on screen, and roughly what time you last tried.
- Whether you have ever successfully signed in to this account before.
Asked most often
Ten consecutive failures. The account then refuses sign-in for 15 minutes and unlocks itself. A successful sign-in at any point resets the counter to zero.
You cannot shorten it from the sign-in page, and neither can your HR admin. Resetting the password does not bypass it either. Wait out the window, or contact support if the timing does not fit a lockout.
Because a different message would confirm the email belongs to a real account. Anyone could then use the login form to build a list of valid addresses. The trade is deliberate: slightly worse ergonomics for you, no free account list for an attacker.
Check spam first. If your company routes NepalHRM mail through its own SMTP server, delivery depends on that server, and your IT team can see whether the message left it. See the guide on emails not arriving.
A normal session lasts 8 hours. Ticking Remember me at sign-in extends it to 30 days. Changing your password ends every other session immediately, on every device.
No. Offboarding blocks new sessions while leaving the record intact for HR. If you still need a payslip or a salary certificate, ask your former HR contact rather than trying to sign in.
